Our Approach

A better way to do healthcare!

Why now?

Over the past 30 years, we have seen a growing frustration with the status quo in the health and wellness industry. Few people feel their best, and we believe we’re approaching a tipping point where accepting this is no longer an option.

We reject settling for “good enough”.

The healthcare system in the US is focused on “sick care”, aimed at preventing death rather than promoting health and wellness. This system doesn’t prioritize addressing the root causes of illness and disease. We believe it’s important to take charge of your own health and wellness and only rely on the traditional healthcare system when you are sick.

At NuMed Direct Primary Care, we combine science, ancestral wisdom, common sense, and practical experience to help you achieve optimal health.

OUR CORE PRINCIPALS:

  1. Optimization and prevention: Strive for your full health potential, not just avoiding illness.
  2. Holistic approach: Address the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional health.
  3. Evidence-based: Incorporate scientific research, traditional wisdom, and practical expertise.

We aim to combine the best of the evolving versions of medicine.

The evolution of modern medicine started hundreds of years ago and is changing now every day. The concept of Medicine 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 reflects three advancing eras in the history of medicine, each with its own focus, approach, and goals. The newest version we are just beginning is “Medicine 3.0”. Combined with the most redeeming qualities of the earlier approaches, it is the best of the best. So, what does all this mean?

Evolution of medicine

MEDICINE 1.0

What is it?

This represents the historical era of medicine, akin to the old-town doctor. While it excelled in fostering personal relationships, its limitations were evident in the absence of standardized practices.

MEDICINE 2.0

What is it?

Our current model is evidence-based and emphasizes collaboration. It addresses issues like standardized training and electronic medical records but comes at the expense of personal relationships. It tends to be one-size-fits-all, leaving patients frustrated.

MEDICINE 3.0

What is it?

This is the next evolution in healthcare, blending the personalized approach of Medicine 1.0 with the technological advancements of Medicine 2.0. The aim is to proactively prevent illnesses, elevate overall well-being, and empower individuals through tailored health coaching focused on managing lifestyle choices.

Here are some examples of how we implement Medicine 3.0 in our practice:

  • Personalized medicine:

This approach to medical treatment and healthcare considers individual variations in patients’ genes, environments, and lifestyles. We achieve this through providing 30-60 minute visits, convenient telemedicine, access via texts/portal, and genuine, compassionate care.

  • Data-driven insights:

Utilizing comprehensive datasets, we identify patterns and trends that enhance our understanding of diseases and aid in the development of novel treatments. Specifically, data-driven insights play a crucial role in creating innovative personalized treatments, utilizing extensive lab panels, biometric and metabolic assessments, and more.

  • Technology: This is used to develop new treatments and preventive measures. For example, wearable devices can be used to monitor health conditions, provide feedback and coaching, detect diseases early, and personalize treatments.

The integration of Medicine 1.0 and 2.0 into 3.0 allows for a comprehensive approach that interweaves traditional and functional/holistic healthcare with modern innovation for your optimal wellness and healing.
